Okay, okay, I'm busted. It's been tooooooooooo long since I've updated the Blog. So here come my excuses. The weather has been getting more and more beautiful here and it's hard to get excited about sitting inside. The trees are all green and the grass has been mowed TWICE now!! It's really a gorgeous spring here in North East Texas. I've also been bitten by the nesting/spring cleaning bug in a big way. I've really enjoyed getting the baby's room ready and getting Kraig and myself prepared for another little person in our home.
I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and despite all the predictions, experiences, and advice I really feel in my heart that the baby will be here mid May or close to my May 31st due date. Yes, I know, I know everyone has a story about being late or wants to share what they think, so I'm entitled to share what I think too… even if we don't agree I can think whatever the hell I want. Just like you can. =) For some crazy reason that I don't always understand, I have felt really in tune with myself, my dear Daddy who is deceased, and how the baby is settling in. I started feeling pressure in my pelvis Saturday and the doctor said that is because the baby is moving into position. Yesterday was exactly one month till My Dad's birthday, and also my 37th week of pregnancy. My mom said I came before my due date, so who knows. I'm no expert, but I do believe in individual intuition and if mine is wrong. Oh well =) I can say with all certainty that I have not had an average pregnancy, and have never considered myself an average girl. So anything is possible. I've run the entire time, I've had no traditional pregnancy symptoms, and I've been pretty energetic the entire time. It's fun to read the signs and feelings along the way. To borrow from a Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat song I've always believed "if you think it, want it, dream it / then it’s real / you are what you feel" Nevertheless I'm just looking forward to Kraig and myself becoming parents and having our own family.
It's been 6 WEEKS since my last update and I'm closing in on the end of my pregnancy. Yes, time does seem to drag during this time, as many will tell you, but I'm going to enjoy these last precious moments with the Hubby, Trig, and Addy. I’m still doing a few days here and there at Monday Primary, and enjoy seeing the kids and the ladies at school. They hosted a beautiful baby shower for me before the end of my long term assignment and really got Baby V some much needed diapers, and other goodies. My family at Monday Primary has been such a treasure to me while I've been pregnant and so far from family and friends. We shall see what the future holds, but a teaching position there would be great. Especially since they have an onsite daycare! We shall see, I'm taking it one day at a time.
Kraig's traveling is starting to slow down, but I still had time to finish a special quilt for him and the baby before he came back from his last trip. He was so excited about it, and I know he'll feel proud every time he shows off the baby.
SUPER Thrilled about our new Dyson Animal Vacuum Cleaner!!! I can now put my fears to rest about our baby sporting a dog hair soul patch or mustache…that thing is amazing if you have pets. I can't believe we hadn't gotten one before! Now that we have it I’m sold…and very addicted to vacuuming =)
Our doctor's appointments have been great, and they are pleased with baby's progress. We should have a final ultrasound next month in week 37. Until then, I'm just enjoying life, and looking forward to our big day when we meet Baby V!
I also ran a 5k here in Kaufman back in March. The spring into action 5k was to benefit the women and children wing at the hospital where we will welcome Baby V into the world. I placed 3rd in my age group, and at 32 years old and 8 months pregnant I'd say that's pretty damn good! =)
